The Implant Foundation was founded in 2006 by Dr Andrew Greenwood, a dental surgeon with over twenty years' experience and world-class knowledge in the dynamic field of implantology.

Choosing the right implantologist is difficult when you know little about the procedure. In the UK, anyone with a dental degree is qualified to place dental implants. There is no obligation to undertake any formal training in Implantology.

Dr Greenwood has gained the Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. This additional qualification is currently considered to be the gold standard in postgraduate implant dentistry. He is a Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons Implant Diploma Course helping to educate and mentor dentists in this exacting specialty.

Many dentists can provide patients with implants but there are only a few who are trained to such a high level. Implantology is a dynamic field where continuing professional development is an ongoing process. Dr Greenwood attends courses worldwide to ensure he maintains his current expertise and to further his knowledge.
